Junior Diplomat is an Atlanta based organization which provides the opportunity to students from France and the US to travel abroad during the summer in pursuit of the international experience and the language practice that an exchange can provide.
Students age 13 to 17 travel abroad for three weeks with chaperoned groups before being assigned to individual families for the time of the experience. The organization provides logistical support and guidance to both students and host families throughout the summer.
Junior Diplomat is represented in six different cities in France and American High School students travelling to France may stay anywhere in the country and wherever the right family match may be located.
Most American families seem to prefer hosting our French students first. American students who wish to return the visit can travel the same summer or the following summer and sometimes during the school year.
Host Families include their visitor as one of their own and provide the extraordinary opportunity for the visiting student to get a better understanding of a different way of life and to access rapidly to an improved level of fluency in the other language.
Junior Diplomat seeks to help promote better relations between the US and France, one friendship at a time.
The organization is extremely grateful for the help provided by French teachers, schools, churches, individuals and host families, in securing good homes for every one of our students.
